It’s been almost 15 years since Reznor — the mastermind behind industrial music pioneers and Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Nine Inch Nails — and his bandmate and longtime creative partner Atticus Ross composed their first film score, for David Fincher’s The Social Network, which won them their first Academy Award.
Throughout, “Waterdrop” marries a straightforward naturalism with more elliptical stylistic flourishes — in dialogue, as when we’re treated to a myth about Lake Ohrid during a business meeting, as well as in imagery, as when off-camera conversations score shots from above of fish being deboned on the plate during a luncheon.
Co-written and starring Ilana Glazer as Lucy – an ambitious PR agency employee who is finding it difficult to get pregnant, the film follows her pregnancy journey post consulting and getting treatment from fertility expert Dr. Hindle (a super-creepy Pierce Brosnan).
Adam Driver, Jeremy Strong and Anne Hathaway are set to star in the film package that is based on an original script from Gray.
